JoJo Journals (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates jojojournals.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits the Site, joins our email list, or buys from our store. Our general Terms, Disclaimers and Refund Policy are on a separate page.
Who we are
JoJo Journals is a small business based in Houston, Texas, USA, selling printable and digital journals, planners and stickers. You can reach us at hello@jojojournals.com or through our contact form.
What we collect and why
When you buy something. To process your order we collect your name, email address, billing details and the products you purchased. Payments are handled by our payment processors (Stripe and PayPal); we never see or store your full card number. We keep order records for accounting and tax purposes and so you can re-download your purchases from your account.
When you create an account. We store your name, email address and order history so you can log in, download your files and manage your details.
When you contact us. We keep your name, email address and message so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
When you join our email list or grab a freebie. We collect your name and email address to send you the download and our newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
When you leave a comment. We collect the data shown in the comment form plus your IP address and browser user-agent string to help detect spam. An anonymised hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it.
Automatically. Like most websites we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring site, through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies” below).
How we use your information
- to fulfil orders, deliver digital downloads and provide customer support
- to run your account and let you access past purchases
- to send emails you have asked for, and marketing emails you can opt out of at any time
- to keep the Site secure, prevent fraud and detect spam
- to understand how the Site is used so we can improve it
- to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a contract (orders and accounts), your consent (newsletters and non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (security, analytics and improving the Site), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use essential cookies to run the store (for example, to remember your cart and keep you logged in) and, with your consent, analytics and marketing cookies to understand traffic and measure our advertising. When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise your choice. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie icon on the Site or your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the store from working.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Site, under contracts that limit how they may use it:
- Payments: Stripe and PayPal (payment processing and fraud prevention)
- Hosting and security: Namecheap (web hosting) and Cloudflare (content delivery, security and bot protection)
- Email: Kit (formerly ConvertKit) and MailPoet (newsletters and transactional email)
- Analytics and advertising: Google (Analytics, Search Console and Google Listings & Ads) and Pinterest (product listings and ad measurement)
- Site tools: Jetpack by Automattic (site statistics and security) and Gravatar (comment avatars)
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our service providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where required, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Order and account records are kept for as long as your account exists and for as long as we need them for tax and accounting purposes (generally seven years). Email-list data is kept until you unsubscribe. Contact-form messages are kept for up to two years. Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognised automatically. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the provider.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email. To exercise any other right, email hello@jojojournals.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you are in the EU, UK or a similar jurisdiction you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, and payments are processed by PCI-compliant providers. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The Site is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

The Site contains links to other websites, including affiliate links. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be announced on the Site or by email.
